Musician’s Covenant

 

Psalm 22:22 (NRSV) “I will tell of Your name to my brothers and
sisters; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you.”

 

Our Music Mission is to:

  • Praise our Creator through Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (Ps.43:5)
  • Use  the gifts God has given us to edify the Body of Christ (Heb.13:15)
  • Proclaim truth and Biblical doctrine through song (Ps.105:1-2)
  • Exhort one another to good works (James 5:13)
  • To make disciples for Christ….through the medium of MUSIC

 

How we reflect our name: 

We are vessels of the Holy Spirit that resonate His truth
through our music.  Resonance is the energy that creates beautiful sounds; it is the force behind music.  The Spirit of God is the force behind all that we do as we lead His people in worship each week.  Our music resonates into the worshippers
gathered and as they respond to who God is, their praise resonates upward to
God Himself, making Him glorified.

 

Resonance = “A quality of richness and significance,
evoking a response”

 

As a musician at COTM and a member of Resonance…..

  • I commit to spending time with God in prayer and in His Word, cultivating a
         deeper and more dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • I  commit to developing a servant’s attitude and heart, understanding that
         participating in Resonance is an act of service and a privilege.
  • I  commit to using the gifts/talents God has given me both in practice and on
         Sunday mornings with excellence.
  • I  commit to attending weekly practices and Sunday morning services
         consistently and promptly, respecting everyone else’s’ time and
         sacrifice.  I commit to respecting
         the affirmation of the ministry’s leader by letting her know when I cannot
         attend rehearsals or Sunday service.
  • I   commit to supporting what God is doing here at COTM, supporting the staff,
         the vestry and Father Jim.

I have prayerfully considered the above statements and feel led to use my gifts and abilities to serve God through the music ministry at Church of the Messiah.  My signature serves to demonstrate my understanding of, and commitment to this ministry, its leadership, and what I feel is God’s call in my life at this time.
